Toyota Motor North America announces December and year-end 2021 U.S. sales

PLANO, Texas, January 4, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) today announced sales of 174,115 vehicles in the United States in December 2021, down 30.2% in volume and 27.7% in daily sale (DSR) compared to december 2020.

For calendar year 2021, TMNA ​​reported US sales of 2,332,262 vehicles, an increase of 10.4% in volume and 11.5% in DSR.

The Toyota division recorded sales of 150,072 vehicles in the United States in December, down 29.0% in volume and 26.4% in DSR. For the year, Toyota reported sales of 2,027,786 vehicles in the United States, up 10.3% in volume and 11.4% in DSR.

The Lexus division recorded sales of 24,043 vehicles in the United States in December, down 37.1% in volume and 34.8% in DSR. For the year, Lexus reported sales of 304,476 vehicles in the United States, up 10.7% in volume and 11.8% in DSR.

Year-end highlights

ASMR:

  • First seller of EPV for 22 consecutive years
  • EPV 2021 sales totaled 583,697 vehicles, an increase of 73.2%
  • EPV sales represent a quarter of TMNA ​​sales volume in 2021
  • A total of 18 EPVs available at dealerships between the Toyota and Lexus brands, the most of any automaker, with two more in showrooms by mid-2022
