The College Station police response to a domestic violence incident over the weekend resulted in the release of SWAT negotiation teams and hostages.
Residents of apartments in Southgate Village were moved and a road was closed on Saturday for more than three hours before a Bryan man who had barricaded himself was arrested.
Deuntae Damon, 25, according to CSPD arrest reports, grabbed a pregnant woman’s neck and applied enough pressure that she began to lose consciousness.
Damon was also arrested on a warrant accusing him of hitting the same woman in the forehead with a hammer two weeks ago.
The obligations on the new charges have been set at $66,000.
At the time of this arrest, Damon was also wanted on a warrant for violating probation after admitting to domestic abuse with a prior conviction. The October 2021 attack involved another woman. Damon is being held without bail on the probation violation charge.
